Immerse yourself in yet another tale of the Two Hearts' Wounded Warrior Romance series with Tamara Ferguson's Two Hearts' Subterfuge. At the age of sixteen, Aylin Broussard has already demonstrated an eye for fashion design. Aylin's brother Rafe is getting married to Camille, and Aylin is helping with the wedding dresses. Meanwhile, the Broussard family is still reeling from the betrayals of Aylin's half-brothers, Ash and Beau, who chose to walk in their terrorist father's footsteps. When Ash and his paternal uncle try to abduct Aylin, it's eighteen-year-old Ben Loughlin who comes to her rescue. Ten years later, Aylin is now a successful fashion designer and model with her own clothing line. Sparks fly when she runs into Ben again. But now, an old enemy is back in town, plotting revenge.

For contemporary romance lovers, there is nothing like a Two Hearts' Wounded Warrior Romance series novel. Author Tamara Ferguson is once again at peak form in Two Hearts' Subterfuge, combining romance and intrigue with a dash of suspense to keep you thrilled and engrossed all the way through. Ferguson has built a truly immersive world with this series. All the characters are so intricately linked with each other. Characters from previous books come and go while the primary focus is always on a new couple whose romance takes center stage in the narrative. Aylin and Ben are the main protagonists in this book. I wholeheartedly enjoyed their story arcs alongside the secondary characters from the Broussard and Loughlin families. If you're a voracious romance reader, this series is a must-have for your shelf.

In Tamara Ferguson’s Two Hearts’ Subterfuge, ten years after being kidnapped and sold to a powerful enemy by her half-brother, Aylin Broussard is on a quest to reclaim her freedom and identity. As a successful fashion designer and model, she returns to Crystal Rock to open her boutique, hoping to find closure. However, her past still haunts her. Her kidnapper reemerges, threatening not only her safety but her future as well. Ben Loughlin, the boy who once saved her life, steps in to protect her. Their teenage bond rekindles into something deeper as they navigate trust, danger, and the unresolved wounds of their past. With a bomb threat, a second abduction attempt, and a dangerous family conspiracy looming, Aylin must decide whom to trust and how far she is willing to go in the pursuit of peace and love.

Two Hearts’ Subterfuge by Tamara Ferguson captures the essence of healing and rediscovery. Aylin’s journey from survivor to confident designer is portrayed in a way that resonates deeply, and Ben is a solid counterpart—grounded, loyal, and quietly heroic. Their chemistry develops organically, which enhances the authenticity of their relationship. Aylin emerges as a determined and independent character, unwilling to be caged again, even as threats escalate. Ben brings steadiness and heart, and their reunion feels natural and earned. The family dynamic adds depth, particularly in the care shown to Lara’s mental health subplot, which is handled with sensitivity. The suspense keeps building, with explosive action and shocking betrayals that unfold with believable weight. The writing is straightforward and emotional without losing clarity. The pacing is strong, with well-placed suspense and romantic beats. The suspense element, tied to Aylin’s past and her half-brother’s vendetta, keeps the pace lively. The emotional payoff and hopeful tone make this a satisfying read. This book is ideal for fans of romantic suspense with strong family themes, second-chance love, and stories of healing. It is a great read, thanks to its heartfelt storytelling and the author's ability to juggle romance, danger, and redemption with sincerity.

Two Hearts' Subterfuge by Tamara Ferguson is a compelling short story. It follows sixteen-year-old Aylin Broussard, who wishes to attend design school, but her dad expects her to attend college after graduating from high school. Aylin's family has endured significant drama due to Ash, her half-brother, who once attempted to harm them. Now, as Ash is still on the loose, her family fears that he will attempt something terrible again. One day, eighteen-year-old Ben Loughlin sees someone suspicious lurking near Rene's Boutique, where he had recently laid eyes on the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. Ben badly wants to meet her and get to know her. One day, when he sees a strange guy kidnapping a young woman, who happens to be Aylin, he follows the kidnapper, hoping to save her. Little do they know how their lives will change in the next ten years because of that terrifying event. Will Ben save Aylin?

Two Hearts' Subterfuge is the thirtieth book in the Two Hearts' Wounded Warrior Romance series. Tamara Ferguson has crafted another engaging, sweet, and quite absorbing story from cover to cover. I particularly enjoyed reading about how Aylin helped Lara, Ben's little sister, in that beautiful and touching way. This story captures the complexities of being part of a family with a tricky history. It demonstrates that sometimes a teenage crush can persist and blossom into something more, provided you give it a chance, even after years have passed. I recommend this book to romance fans looking for a quick, cozy read. I also recommend Tamara Ferguson as an author to read.
