Two Peas In A Separated Pod: A True Story of Adoption has been written by sisters who grew up totally unaware of each other’s existence. Jeannie Lachman was brought up as a city girl in the Bronx, New York, the second of two adopted children, whilst Carole Sanguedolce, an “only child”, was raised in rural Northern Ontario, Canada. Jeannie knew she was adopted, but she was fifteen before she was told her real name, and older still before she began a lengthy search that culminated in tracing her birth mother. Contact is established, but there is still one question left unanswered: who was Jeannie’s biological father? Carole finds a clue that leads to the truth Jeannie is desperate to know. Should she tell the sister that she has come to love as if they had never been parted, or not?

Jeannie Lachman and Carole Sanguedolce each tell their own story in Two Peas In A Separated Pod: A True Story of Adoption, and this makes it much more intriguing than if only one of them had authored it; it reveals their lives during the years that they lived apart. Jeannie was fifteen when Charlotte Krueger showed her papers that revealed her birth name, which triggered her search for the mother who’d rejected her at birth. Carole’s story is utterly different, securely part of an extended family. When Carole discovers their mother’s secret, loyalty and sisterly love battle for supremacy. Two Peas In A Separated Pod is an inspirational story of sisterhood.
