Undomesticated: She Had No Remorse is a work of fiction in the crime thriller genre that was penned by author Gary Smith and produced in audiobook format with narration by Brian Moriarty. In this unique work, we find ourselves in the mind of both a detective and a killer in the personage of Kimberly Johnson, whose unique outlook on the domestication of humanity gives her an uncatchable edge with her own killings. This also means that she can see the patterns and understand other killers, which begins a quest to find a new figure who is leaving the bodies of young women by the side of the road.
Author Gary Smith has created a highly engaging tale from a unique angle, which utilizes his would-be reporter Warren Steelgrave as an interesting foil to Kimberly’s prowess as both a detective and an uncaught killer. The work is presented in a thrilling narrative style with a good sense of pacing, but it also delivers some highly psychological aspects that are interesting to think about long after you set the book down.
In terms of audiobook quality, the track itself is very clear and crisp with no skips or problems for readers. Narrator Brian Moriarty brings the story to life with an enigmatic voice that shifts from one mood to another really well. This ability reflects the knife-edge quality of the written work and enhances the atmosphere and pacing of the piece in doing so. Overall, Undomesticated: She Had No Remorse is a recommended listen for audiobook fans seeking an intense drama with a great narrator.
