In Unveiled, author Tamara Helene Arrington has unleashed the second of her Berringer Family novels to the world of suspense literature. Those who enjoyed the first novel will certainly love this one as well. The Berringer spawn are a collection of truly peculiar men and women who appear to go through the ages wreaking havoc upon those who are not mentally disturbed. In this novel, Coral has escaped the clutches of Margaret and she travels to the Carolinas, hopefully to give birth to a child that has already been pronounced to have a low likelihood of health and sanity. Coral repeatedly receives messages from her deceased mother, Caroline, regarding a return to the family estate in Rhode Island where all the torture and neglect occurred. Feeling possessed, Coral returns to the estate where she gives birth to a premature baby girl, fraught with physical problems.

At times, descriptions seem to go on and on in this book, but when author Arrington is precise, the riveting plot moves quickly. There are disturbing issues in this book and some of them are not resolved to the reader's satisfaction. But the risk-taking on Coral's part is an indication of her willingness to move away from dysfunction and toward a healthier life for herself and her child. We will not know until the next novel if Coral's efforts on her child's behalf will pay off, but we get ample indication in this novel that baby Lily is indeed, a very complex little girl! Unveiled is a thriller and author Arrington appears to be up to the task of keeping her readers on the edge of their seats.
