Vegan Recipes Vol. 2 by Yogi Chuckravanen is an excellent collection of recipes for readers interested in simple vegan meals. A lot of merit has to be personally experienced in vegan cuisine to know whether it is suitable for you and healthy without compromising on nutrition and energy-giving foods. I think this book achieves these aims well since many of the recipes describe foods that are simple and nutritious. Thus, the book should appeal to readers of all diets.

Most recipes have a colour photograph of the food. Occasionally there is a short introduction for some recipes which gives more information on the time of preparation and other aspects. Some of the recipes call for exotic ingredients and several of them consist entirely of commonly used ingredients, making it appealing to readers interested in recipes with ingredients from all parts of the world. The recipes consist of snacks, soups, condiments, main meals and desserts. All are clearly written and preparation methods are simply described. Examples of popular foods listed include pizza, pancakes, spring rolls, soup, roasted vegetables and potato cakes.

It is a versatile collection which will appeal to beginners and more experienced cooks alike. It should be of particular importance to people interested in adopting a purely vegan diet. I highly recommend it for delicious, healthy, ethical food. It can also be of interest to people interested in a purely organic diet with fresh home-made ingredients. Notably, this would be better for health and also for weight loss without the difficult dieting.
