Waggytail by Kerry Watts is the story of Jet, a pup who has been living with his new family for four months at Number 5, Barrels Avenue. Once the school routine started, no one had any time for Jet except Billy, who took him for evening walks to the park. That too stops once Billy gets a job. The family knows they have no time for Jet and decide to advertise so that Jet can find a new home and be with a family who has more time for him. Jet settles in well with Pete and Maggie, his new family. One Sunday, while on their usual routine, it rains heavily and Jet gets lost. Will Jet be able to find his way back or will he be able to find another new family who will love him and want to keep him? Will Jet be able to find a family that will give him his tripe sticks and tickle his tummy?

It is a heartwarming story and throws light on the plight of dogs that are waiting in rescue centers, eager to be adopted and loved. The letter at the end of the story from Jet, who has a new name now, will touch the hearts of readers. This is a book for all dog lovers. Jet’s adventures and his search for a new loving family is adorable yet sad. The story is fun, filled with emotion and a bit of heartache, and children will love Jet and his appealing personality.
