Waiting for Santa by Greta King is a delightful story that captures the magic of Christmas Eve. The story is about a little girl who wonders what gift Santa will bring for her this Christmas. She wonders how Santa manages to reach all the corners of the world to deliver gifts. The book is about the girl waiting with eagerness to see what Santa will give her; at the same time she is also curious to know how Santa would travel - reindeer, bike, airplane, rocket, or skis.

The magic of Christmas Eve and the girl's enthusiasm are obvious in the narration. She tells others to sleep early on Christmas Eve so that they can wake up early to see what Santa has left for them. She also reminds them to leave milk and cookies for Santa on his ride. The girl is happy to see that Santa has left all the presents she has asked for. The illustrations are bright and colorful and they add clarity to the writer's words. Children's stories are incomplete without pictures. It is these colorful illustrations that attract them to a story.

The book is very cheerful. I will recommend this book for all school and children's libraries. It will make a good bedtime story and can also used for read-aloud sessions in classrooms and libraries. Children are told about the traditions followed at Christmas. Every child will be able to relate to the story because it is something that all of them do during the Christmas season.
