In We Meet Again in Summer by Terri Greening, twenty-eight-year-old Lily Prescot appreciates the family home she inherited and hopes to have a husband and family. She still yearns for Mitch Jaymison, a doctor and past boyfriend she hasn't communicated with for a year but who is still on her mind. After the success of her first romance novel, Lily tries to write another book, hoping the story will bring in the money to pay the taxes on her house. She can't seem to get the narrative right as she isn't experiencing love ... until she resumes her relationship with Mitch. Their relationship doesn't start as she'd hoped, with other women vying for Mitch's attention, her ex-fiance attempting to reestablish their connection, and a mysterious drug operation functioning around Storm Lake. The drugs seem to be coming from an inside person at the hospital and the hospital administration wonders if Mitch may be involved.
Terri Greening knows how to draw you into this romance while keeping you eagerly turning the pages. Even though it has been a year since their romance ended, Lily and Mitch have an undeniable effect on each other. Storm Lake has a problem with drug dealers and it amps up the danger surrounding Lily and Mitch's relationship. You may end up clutching your racing heart as Lily, a woman who normally does nothing more exciting than playing golf or going for a sailboat ride, is stalked by drug dealers and clings to Mitch for supportive comfort. It's like reading two romance novels in one book as you watch the sparks between Lily and Mitch and follow Lily's progress with her characters, Tyler and Portia, from her second novel. We Meet Again in Summer is a good selection for readers who enjoy second-chance romances with a hint of outside danger.
