In Web of Obsession by Ann Dunbar, Sunny Rivers was famous as America's sweetheart. But she longed for something more personal. Sunny wanted a place where she truly belonged and someone who loved her. When Sunny met Antonio, she believed she had found what she wanted in life. Antonio's attention made Sunny feel she finally mattered as herself. Their relationship ended abruptly when Antonio’s troubled past caught up with him. Antonio believed distancing himself was the only way to keep Sunny safe, and he made the painful decision to walk away. Sunny’s career takes her to Hawthorn’s Hope Ranch in Evanston, Montana, where she reunites with Antonio. He is determined to repair the damage he caused, but buried betrayals return as danger draws closer.
Ann Dunbar's book kept me invested in Sunny and Antonio’s complicated relationship. I was hooked from start to finish. I could not put the book down; I was afraid I would miss something important. The characters were realistic and relatable. Sunny is a strong woman but also vulnerable beneath her public image. With a surprise waiting around every corner, I could not turn the pages fast enough to see what happened. I guessed what would happen and was wrong every time. It was a nail-biting read. The events were descriptive, and they made me feel part of Sunny's life. Web of Obsession was brilliantly written and ended with a cliffhanger. The book was more than I expected, and I am still pondering it. I cannot wait for Sunny and Antonio’s next adventure.
