Where Summer Melts Christmas by Jéssica S. Scheumann is a gorgeous children's picture book. It follows Sofia and her best friend, Zeca, a cute penguin, as they spend Christmas this year in a new country with its own traditions. Sofia and Zeca both love Christmas, the cold, and the snow. They don't know if they'd like to celebrate Christmas in Brazil. They fear that without snow, they won't know if the magic of Christmas is on its way. But once in Brazil, they start to notice some differences. Thus, they become even more curious to explore further and discover what else is different from the United States. Each new experience convinces both Sofia and Zeca that they love celebrating Christmas in Brazil. Most importantly, they learn what Christmas magic is all about.
Where Summer Melts Christmas is a must-have book for children of all ages, especially those who love Christmas. Written in both English and Portuguese, this entertaining story encourages curiosity and excitement in young readers about experiencing something new, as well as an openness to embracing new traditions and cultural differences.
