Sarah Beth Channing, single working girl, lives contentedly on her family farm in the majestic hills of southern West Virginia. Her life of solitude is one of quiet happiness. As long as her bills are paid and her land is safe, there is nothing else Sarah Beth wants. And then it happens. On the lonely, dark highway during the drive home from her job at a local diner, Sarah Beth spies a disturbing image of lone man standing on the edge of tallest bridge in America. In his eyes she sees desperation and a determination to free himself of the evils that plague him in a leap off The New River Gorge Bridge. Without a thought of turning her back on this obviously suicidal soul, Sarah Beth approaches the wickedly handsome Ian Roberts in an attempt to talk him out of this horrible decision. Unaware of his reasons to end his life, but willing to risk her own safety by driving Ian to a nearby coffee shop, Sarah Beth changes the course of destiny, both his as well as hers.

Author Cathy Koon has created a beautifully told story of two individuals lost in their own fears of accepting love. Whispers of the Heart will entrance the reader with multiple plot twists that oddly intertwine into a story of innocence and rare passion. It is refreshing to read a love story that grows from the chance meeting of two very different personalities. I loved this book.
