Author Biography

Anna Durand is an award-winning author of sizzling romances, including the bestseller Dangerous in a Kilt, recipient of a 2016 National Readers' Choice Award and an Honorable Mention in the 2017 Readers' Favorite Book Awards. The Hot Scots series emerged out of a love for all things Scottish she inherited from her late father. While she researching a planned Scottish historical romance, she realized she really needed to write a hot Highlander romance ASAP. A new series was born!

Anna loves writing about spunky heroines and hunky heroes, in settings as diverse as modern Chicago and the fairy realm. Making use of her master's in library science, she owns a cataloging services company that caters to indie authors and publishers. In her free time, you'll find her binge-listening to audiobooks, playing with puppies, or crafting jewelry.

Wicked in a Kilt: Hot Scots, Book 2 is a sizzling romance novel written by Anna Durand. Calli Douglas wasn’t interested in romance. She had three rules that she lived by: no sex, no love, no marriage, and she wasn’t ashamed of the fact that she was, at the age of 25, still a virgin. Calli’s life had gotten very serious very quickly when her parents died and left her and her brother with a ton of debt and a mortgaged house. Her betrayed trust in a college friend, who offered to help her with those financial entanglements in exchange for her help with a green card, had left her feeling like a criminal and made her determined not to fall for any man -- no matter how sexy or appealing. Calli had only grabbed onto that very hot and hunky man in a kilt because she had promised her cousin, and best friend, Tara, that she would find the errant stripper who was late for Tara’s bachelorette party, and send him on. Dance Ardor was the last place on earth Calli would willingly find herself in, were it not for Tara. She would get Kilt Boy to where those girls were waiting for him, and then she’d find a quiet place to wait out the event. But Aidan was not the stripper Tara had ordered, and something about him made every resolution Calli had ever lived by seem impossible to keep.

Anna Durand’s sizzling romance novel, Wicked in a Kilt: Hot Scots, Book 2, is a compelling and well-written tale about second chances at romance. Watching the clueless Scot, who thinks his brother has the perfect recipe for bringing home an American wife, as he proves irresistible to the young woman who’s had it with romance and just wants to live in the woods with her two puppies, is grand entertainment. Durand has the gift for writing steamy hot prose that’s authentic and in good taste, and the reader can’t help but keep their fingers crossed as Calli and Aidan work to find a way to resolve their issues. While this is book two in Durand’s Hot Scots series, Wicked in a Kilt works quite well as a standalone novel. That said, I’ve also read and reviewed Dangerous in a Kilt and thoroughly enjoyed it. Wicked in a Kilt: Hot Scots, Book 2 is most highly recommended.

Coffee Time Romance & More

An enthralling story. I could not believe the book was over in what felt like a moment. [...] Be warned, you will find yourself addicted and want your own Hot Scot.

Romancing the Book

I like the fact that the author didn't follow the same formula with this book that she had with her previous book. [...] Calli is too funny...Aidan is just so sweet.

The Romance Reviews

Who can resist a determined Scot? An extremely steamy contemporary romance! It seems all the MacTaggart brothers are wickedly hot and irresistible in their kilts.

Kimmie Sue's Book Review

Holy moley what a book! I mean what could be hotter then a Scott in a Kilt. This book is so well-written and thought out. It has a great flow. This book was not only humorous but also fun to read.

A Novel Glimpse

I didn't think there could be a feistier American or a more wicked hot Scot than Erica and Lachlan, but I was wrong! Calli and Aiden totally take those titles! Their romance was so much fun to read. It was sweet. It was sexy. It was funny. I loved how all of those things were woven together in Wicked in a Kilt.
