World Cup Mouse by Richard Seidman is a funny and entertaining story written for kids 7 to 10 years old. It revolves not just around World Cup and soccer, but also tells readers about courage, determination, bravery, friendship, diligence and grit. Louie LaSurie's only aim is to play for France in the World Cup. But everyone laughs at him when they hear of his dreams. And his only aim is to achieve his goal. Louie proves to the world that nothing is impossible if you set your mind to it. The underlying message in the story is inspirational and uplifting to readers. Will Louie be able to make his dream come true?
Louie's journey to make the World Cup team is fraught with many obstacles. The story has sports, adventure and drama that make it an entertaining read. And the themes of friendship, perseverance and determination make it an engaging book for kids. It is fast paced with good humor and a powerful ending. The book speaks about dreams and commitment and how to make them come true. It is a must-read for all kids and I would recommend it to parents to keep in their personal collection too. Soccer fans will really enjoy the story. The message of dreaming and believing in yourself is good for kids. The story is written well and is an easy read. The illustrations give movement to the characters and the scenes. An excellent story with a beautiful message.
