Wrong Place, Wrong Time is a police procedural thriller written by P.S. Brown. Mike Hendry is trying to get his life back together. He's just celebrated six months of sobriety and has a full-time job. He's decided to start getting fit by taking up running, but since he's self-conscious about his weight, he plans on running out by an abandoned quarry where he used to work. On his first night, however, he witnesses an execution of a young man by three other men. When he sees the police car approach his parked car, he begins to fear for his life. A policeman contacts him and offers him his safety in exchange for his forgetting about what he saw. The policeman explains that the murder victim was a violent criminal who had escaped justice. Hendry's life is totally turned upside-down by this terrifying event. He loses his job and wakes up in jail after getting intoxicated in public. When he contacts D.S. Ripley, the officer seems to be sincere in his concern and offer of protection, but Hendry's instincts are telling him that he's still in danger.

P.S. Brown's police procedural Wrong Place, Wrong Time is suspenseful and engrossing. I was quickly immersed in the action as Hendry tries to evade his pursuers. The story of the day he spends in the mall is marvelously told. You can feel his fear and anxiety as he realizes that anyone he sees could be part of this thing. D.S. Ripley and D.C. Coffey are the perfect team; each has a barely hinted at past, and there's a palpable tension between them. I loved watching them work together as they interview Lee Miller and try to resolve the disappearance of Gavin Robley. As the story progressed, you could sense how their partnership is tested and grows stronger. Brown's storytelling is inspired. He sets his scenes adroitly and gets the reader involved in the plot. Wrong Place, Wrong Time is a very enjoyable and exciting police procedural thriller and I highly recommend it. I'm looking forward to reading more stories featuring D.S. Ripley and D.C. Coffey.
