You Don’t Have To Die to Meet God by Rick Anderson is a poignant story about the life of the author and his spiritual journey. In his younger years, Rick was more conscious of his environment and those that he interacted with, especially if they participated in drugs and alcohol, but later in life he saw himself slip into a crowd and life where he no longer recognized himself. He then entered into Teen Challenge, a rehabilitation program for men and teenage boys that incorporates a spiritual awareness and relationship with God, which changed his life forever. In You Don’t Have To Die to Meet God, Rick demonstrates the trick of the enemy that lurks around and is always ready to cause you to slip into the abyss. However, if you pay close attention, God is there with you through it all. Here is an excerpt that brings the point close to home: “I was in class doing my studies, and I must have forgotten to lock the file drawer to my heart labeled weaknesses. My defenses were quickly breached by thoughts and accusations from the past…. Dan was holding his chest and breathing heavily while he walked up slowly and took me in his arms. He was barely able to speak, “God told me you were in trouble and it was urgent. He said, Go now! Is everything okay?” I just thanked God that Dan heard His voice and acted to provide a way out. Hallelujah to that.” God wants a relationship with you; when He knocks will you answer?
I like the simplicity and transparency of how Rick tells his story. You Don’t Have To Die to Meet God is an ideal tool for those who feel that there is no hope and are unable to see the light at the end of the tunnel. We must believe that every decision that we make affects our lives in some way or another. No matter what you have done, God forgives and He wants a relationship with you. If Rick’s story is yours as well, and you are looking for some solutions and support, getting a copy of You Don’t Have To Die to Meet God by Rick Anderson will help you on your way.
