Take the time each day to read a Bible verse and memorize it phrase by phrase. Rachelle Ayala suggests this spiritual devotion in Your Daily Bible Verse: 366 Verses Correlated by Month and Day. She notes that a difficult time in her life inspired her to write this guide and she hopes that the reader will be helped. She uses the formal majesty of the authorized King James version of the Christian Bible with quotations from the Old and the New Testament.
The dedication to Katleen Ping is suggested with Psalm 27:1. This verse urges the reader not to be afraid. The bulk of the book quotes verses using the number from the month and the day of the year. The 1st month is the chapter number and the 15th day is the verse number. The last portion of this guide gives a practical suggestion for verse memorization by using index cards and splitting the verse up by each of its phrases.
Each shorter phrase is easier to remember, and eventually the reader will memorize the whole verse. The Bible's chapter and verse format gives the mind another way to recall the words and their meaning. This book is a handy calendar list and memorization guide with a bonus day's verse. But it is also a reflection of the author's point of view by the Christian scriptures she chooses to include. The text format is simple but the spiritual ideas are complex.
