Your Health at Your Fingertips by Jean Daniel François is a book about attaining better health by combining conventional ways of practicing medicine with the alternative (natural ) ways. The fast part of the book focuses on the most common diseases of our generation, like diabetes, cancer, obesity, pain, hypertension, stroke and heart diseases, the causes, symptoms, treatment. Jean Daniel François then shows how each of these diseases can be prevented by focusing on control of the modifiable risk factors, through easy steps like eating healthy foods, regular physical exercise and weight control among others. Daniel François illustrates how our lifestyle choices affect our health and how we can change our lifestyle to attain better health. He also makes comparison between how the previous generations lived and how scientific and technological advancements have affected our life style, including our diet. He details the food we must eat if we are to be healthy.
Your Health at Your Fingertips focuses on prevention of diseases by changing our life style. Daniel François focuses on lifestyle and healthy eating as the most effective ways of preventing diseases and living a healthier life. He details what to eat and how to live your life but also emphasizes the role of doctors in treating diseases that might still get to us, despite our healthier life styles. I found the book very helpful and very easy to understand; Jean Daniel François did not use complex medical terms but instead used easy language and drew examples from our day-to-day lives. The book is very easy to relate to and the advice is very easy to follow.
