Lorii Myers is an empowered employee turned entrepreneur. Her three decades of business experience include a wide variety of career challenges: business manager, controller, senior manager, and business owner.

She believes that you should aspire to learn from those who inspire you and therefore she was careful to choose her early employment opportunities well. She worked for entrepreneurial companies, owned or managed by formidable entrepreneurs. When asked what she learned? Myers is quick with the answer – “The right attitude is everything!”

Myers left the security of employment to fulfill her own sense of entrepreneurial flair in her early thirties. Because of her personal quest to explore every opportunity, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this book. Her challenge to you is to “come out to play, take on the world, and make success yours!”

"3 Off the Tee" is the first in a series of four books. Its cover was clever, with the depiction of a business man wearing a suit lying on the golf course with a tee in his mouth and a golf club getting ready to hit the ball. I also really liked the font type, font size, spacing and formatting used throughout the book, making it easy to read and follow.

Having read hundreds upon hundreds of business books, it's hard for me to say that I learned something new in a book, but it is nice when an author tries to put material in a frame of reference, such as Myers does with golf in this book, to relate to the reader and help them grasp the concepts held within.

Myers starts out on "The Front Nine" with self-perception and self-direction discussions about focusing on making decisions and utilizing your strengths. Too many people focus too much on trying to "fix" their weaknesses when they should, as the author points out; instead focus on capitalizing on their strengths. In "The Back Nine," Myers walks the reader through the pursuit of success with areas touching on being proactive, being a team player, and dealing with realistic expectations.
