The Observations of the Obstreperous Animals (Stanley & Katrina Book 2) by Katrina and Stanley is a fun book for children about Katrina the cat and Stanley the dog. Through a series of short stories, Stanley and Katrina give readers a peek into their lives and their crazy activities will have readers laughing. In this book, we see them competing in a poetry slam contest, visiting a pet psychic store, reading numbers and many more exciting things that are enjoyable for kids. Each story has its own charm to keep young readers glued to the book as it takes them on an enjoyable trip.

The stories are humorous and fun loving. All the stories are fast paced and delightful. The Slam Poetry chapter is funny and the poems and haiku by the contestants are not only interesting but also give kids a clue on how to write poetry. Katrina's improved poems are good to read, along with Stanley's comments. Visit the pet psychic to know more about their future; Magical Millie's reading on Stanley and Katrina is hilarious. Whether it is moving into their new home or meeting a cousin, Stanley's and Katrina's lives will charm readers.

The author's writing style is elegant, interspersed with a lot of humor, adventure and fun, at the same time introducing kids to new words, ideas and concepts which make the book more exciting. I would recommend this book to all kids who are looking for a fun read.
