Noemi Waits For Tomorrow is a cute story by PB &j about a little girl, Noemi, who has recently moved into town and hasn’t made any friends yet. When Noemi’s mother casually mentions tomorrow, it gets her imagination flowing ... What is tomorrow like? Her thoughts stir up a whirlwind of questions, and with only one day to prepare for her new acquaintance, Noemi sets out to learn all she can about the elusive tomorrow. She asks anyone who will listen, be it a new feathered friend, (along with other winged creatures), and even the moon! But no matter what Noemi’s ponderings, the answers she’s seeking remain hidden until the next day when she wakes up. With the sun on the horizon, Noemi is in for a big surprise.
PB &j’s adorable tale starts off with a clever ‘Can I read it’ section, offering kids a quick and easy way to see if the story is too hard, too easy, or just right for them. The illustrations for Noemi Waits For Tomorrow are bright and colorful, a joy for the eye all the way through. I loved following Noemi on her quest for answers. She’s filled with wonder over her new bright and shiny word, ‘tomorrow’, and that sense of wonderment is contagious! Kids will find her dilemma relatable, and will be giggling over the sublime rhymes and fun characters, while Noemi’s natural curiosity (so true to how children are in the real world), will put a smile on their parents’ faces ... I know it put a smile on mine.
