Brian is a very busy bee. When not at school, he cares for his baby brother or speeds across the meadow, collecting nectar from the flowers. He knows he is the fastest bee who can fly the farthest. One day after school, Sam the Snail dares Brian to fly to the end of the universe. Brian is confused. To Brian, the universe is always the meadow where he pollinates the flowers. That evening, he goes home, wondering what Sam meant about the universe. Thankfully, his mom has incredible knowledge about the matter. What exciting facts about the big universe and outer space will Brian discover? Better yet, what amazing facts will Brian learn about himself living as a small bee in the big universe? Will he try to fly to its farthest end? Read A Bee in a Big Universe by Kristen M. Niedzielski to find out.

A Bee in a Big Universe is an excellent read, and I have nothing but praise for it. Kristen M. Niedzielski has created a heartwarming and engaging story that is not difficult to read. The narration was lively, often spiced with suspense and exciting plot revelations. I looked forward to the next time Brian met Sam after learning the fascinating universe facts. Niedzielski's choice of simple word construction is equally commendable. Kids may even roleplay different pages and boost their retention of the subject matter. I also loved the colorful illustrations. They are so creative they vividly describe the characters' traits. Their actions describe and express every attribute about them, as evidenced in the illustrations. The themes encourage children to be curious and bold. With so much to offer, this is a must-read for children of all ages. It will also be a favorite of adults interested in and fond of children's literature.
