A Heart for Two is the first volume in the Daddies Who Love Their Daughters Series by Nona Gallien. Royce Hawthorne left his hometown at 18 and settled in Detroit. He took risks, worked hard, and then hit the jackpot. Royce created his own company and lived the good life with luxuries and women, but that changed one day because of a little girl. Little Marguerite came crashing into his life and brought her gorgeous mother along. Offering a job to Rosita Rodriguez was very easy, but falling for the charms of little Marguerite was even easier. Before Royce knew it, he wanted to make the mother/daughter a part of his family. But Rosita had been burned before. It would take much more than money and charm to win her over. Could Royce win Rosita's heart and make them his family?
A Heart for Two is the perfect example of a feel-good romance novel. I enjoyed Royce and his thought processes. He was clinical but somehow always led by his heart rather than his head. His interactions with Marguerite were heartwarming, and his struggles to win Rosita were sometimes hilarious. Rosita is a complicated character who is hurt and unwilling to fall in love. She thought Marguerite was being used as a weapon against her. I enjoyed the narrative style and the pace of the story. It wasn’t rushed or slow and was done just right so readers could love the story as much as the author loved writing it. Nona Gallien did a fantastic job with this novel, and I highly recommend it.
