A Month of Sundays: Stories of Love and Loss by Megan Gordon is made up of twelve short stories. Each story is unique and focuses on some type of loss. I was able to connect to each story even though each one was different. All the stories in A Month of Sundays make you think. Some you will need to reread just to make sure you have not missed anything. All the stories are pretty good.
My favorite story in this book was Who Am I? It is a story about how one person sees another. I completely related to Ann in the story. I will never be a Madison, but certainly know a few of them. However, this story made me wonder how others see me. Perhaps I am a Madison to them and they are an Ann to me. Missed Connection is another one of my favorites. It is a story about how someone sees a stranger at a train stop and they put a message about a missed connection in the newspaper. This story was one of the ones I had to reread to make sure I did not miss anything.
Gordon has put some surprises in a few of the stories in this book. You never know how the stories will end once you begin reading them. These little surprises are what make all the stories so good and worth reading. If you like to read short stories that make you think, then A Month of Sundays is for you. Gordon has done a wonderful job at making each story different and unique. This is a book you will want to read again.
