Aaliyah P. Returns to School! by Lucinda Weeks is part of The Little Adventures of Aaliyah P. kids' adventure series. Aaliyah P. is so excited because she loves school, and she can’t wait to get back there after the holidays. She wants to see all her friends, especially Andy and Candy, the twins. When Aaliyah P. learns she has her favorite teacher again this year, she is over the moon, but another of her favorite teachers isn’t there. Where could Ms. Shelby be? Aaliyah enjoys all her lessons with her friends, and when she goes home, she knows she can do it all again tomorrow. But what happened to Ms. Shelby? Open the pages of this book and find out!
Aaliyah P. Returns to School! by Lucinda Weeks is the second of the Aaliyah P. books I have had the pleasure of reading. It’s a wonderful story with fantastic illustrations that tell the story on every page. The colors are bright and popping, and the story is written in simple language that even the youngest kids can understand. It teaches kids that school is nothing to be afraid of or hate. It’s a wonderful place where you get to make friends and learn in a fun way. Ms. Weeks has crafted her characters carefully, and kids the world over will be able to identify with them, maybe even see a little of themselves in one or two. A wonderful story, perfectly aimed at its audience, and a book that all kids will love at home or in school reading groups.
