Abducted by J.S. Ash follows sixteen-year-old Abigail Ashby, a teenager living in a small town in New Mexico, where strange occurrences are ignored. After sneaking out one night to support her best friend, Harris, whose parents vanished under mysterious circumstances, Abigail finds herself caught between teenage drama and something far more dangerous. A party, a police raid led by her own father, and a strange encounter on the road all push the night in a new direction. Soon after, Abigail and Harris are taken aboard an alien ship built from living material and powered by strange energy. Alone, hurt, and unsure, Abigail struggles to survive dangerous creatures and a new environment while trying to figure out why Harris was attacked. Meanwhile, her father and ex-boyfriend start their own search for answers back on Earth. Can Abigail survive long enough to discover the truth and make it home?

Abducted by J.S. Ash is a YA science fiction thriller that blends teen conflict with high-stakes danger. I enjoyed how the story moves quickly without losing focus on the storyline, especially during scenes that shift between Earth and the alien ship. Ash balances action with character moments, allowing relationships to matter even as the danger escalates. Switching between different perspectives made the story even more suspenseful. I liked that Abigail’s father and other adults weren’t helpless, which kept the tension going. The alien threats were well thought out and convincing. Abducted works well for readers who enjoy a mix of intense science fiction and survival obstacles, making the story both thrilling and human at the same time.

Neither Sheriff Ashby nor the entire town of Criencia believed Donovan Barnett when he disappeared with his wife and re-emerged alone after six months, claiming to have been abducted by aliens. Everyone thinks he killed Charlotte, while Donovan regrets his failure to extricate her from the aliens’ grip. The alien race known as Rreeths has been abducting humans and infecting them with a fast-moving terminal disease that they forced Donovan to work on in captivity. His escape, though surprising, would have been ignored if he had not taken a prized asset with him. Now the Rreeths have abducted Donovan’s son and Abigail Ashby, the sheriff’s daughter, and they are proposing a trade. Will Donovan agree to trade the asset, likely betraying humans, or allow the Rreeths to do their worst and lose his son as well? Read Abducted by J.S. Ash to find out.

J.S. Ash’s Abducted is an action-packed science fiction novel with a young adult theme that will appeal to a teenage audience. The plot rides on the big question of whether alien races will be hostile or find humans impressive enough to ask for help. It is well-written, with a satisfying yet suspenseful ending that elicits curiosity about the next installment in the series. I thought the recurring line about things always working out was clever. The depictions of Abigail’s struggles with peer opinion and her realization of how little it matters send a powerful message of hope that any young person will find useful. I also liked how the characters developed throughout the story. Abducted is thoroughly entertaining, but also laden with life lessons. I highly recommend it.

In J.S. Ash’s Abducted, Abigail Ashby is a teenager already dealing with isolation, a strict sheriff father, and the fallout from old mistakes. One bad night changes everything. After leaving home against her father’s rules, Abigail crosses paths with former friends, unresolved anger, and unexplained events that spiral out of control. What begins as small-town tension turns into something terrifying when alien technology appears, and Abigail and her best friend, Harris, are taken from Earth. Abigail wakes up injured inside a massive, living ship filled with dangerous creatures and sealed passages that fight back. While she struggles to survive and move through the ship, people back home begin to notice that something is very wrong. Secrets tied to Harris’s family surface, raising troubling questions about why he was chosen. Will Abigail find a way back before time eventually runs out?

Abducted by J.S. Ash blends suspense, danger, and personal challenges into an exciting tale. I found the writing very convincing, especially in the scenes where the characters' actions had serious consequences. The narrative keeps Abigail feeling like a real person, not just a survivor. This made me really care about her character development. Her trust and loyalty were shaped by what she went through before. It felt honest. The alien ship was mysterious and threatening the whole time. It had a way of pulling me deeper and deeper into the story. This novel would impress readers who enjoy sci-fi that stays close to human struggles, such as family dynamics, broken friendships, and the hardships of growing up while everything around you changes. Very highly recommended.
