Alien Verses: Decoding Genesis by Gil Rosen is an exciting exploration of the biblical texts that reveal our ancient origin. An understanding of the book of Genesis is fundamental to establishing the roots of humankind. The author transcends religious dogma in uncovering truths that may be unpalatable to some. He uses the original Hebrew writings as his main source, sidestepping the subtleties potentially lost in translation, or hidden behind blind faith. The Bible was written in several languages before being translated into English, and anomalies abound. The nature and identity of God are examined from both a biblical perspective and that of the Sumerian creation records. Genesis points to a single God, but is this the correct interpretation of the word “Elohim”, and was there more than one God? A paradox is that at times God appears to have human qualities. The account of human creation provides fertile ground for formulating new insights. Apart from our physical bodies, the soul was created, and with it a consciousness. Questions arise, such as whether the Garden of Eden was a training ground, providing a sheltered environment for Adam to learn, and whether Eve was the product of biological engineering and an afterthought? Were Adam and Eve the consequence of a failed experiment, or was imperfection deliberate? Who or what was the serpent who influenced Eve, as serpent gods appear in other cultures and mythologies? The Sumerian links to gold and Abraham are just some of the many other points to ponder.

A common translation error refers to giants, which the author believes relates to the Nephilim. The inescapable conclusion is that humans were descended from the Nephilim and are thus a hybrid race. The author introduces advanced yet limited beings from other worlds. This book is not the first to venture down this path of discovery, but is among the boldest and most far-sighted. It brings logic and a new perspective to a situation that has always been there for all to see, although key elements have been either ignored or obscured by organized religion. The author does not set out to reject individual beliefs or question the book of Genesis. He asks readers to assemble the clues in a new order to explain our origins, while ignoring the teachings handed down by theologians. The book freely acknowledges the role of beings from other worlds and explores the relationship between humanity and God with objectivity and wisdom. The writing is clear, meticulously researched, and the explanations are compelling. The timelines as presented are particularly fascinating. This outstanding work deserves serious consideration and should be read with an open mind. A follow-up is eagerly awaited.
