Immerse yourself in an enchanting collection of poems with An Unlikely Sunset: The Passion & Reason Poetry Series. Written by Joe Giampaolo, this poetry collection features over a hundred poems in the style of traditional Japanese poetry, including haiku, tanka, and choka. Giampaolo's poetry captures time spent observing nature and encourages readers to surrender themselves to each moment. Divided into four sections, these poems explore nature, the art of writing, essence, and love. They touch upon a wide range of themes and ideas. You will discover the significance of expression through the poetic medium, the infallible nature of truth, and its place in holy books, history, and philosophy, as well as how pain steers us toward enlightenment. One of the poems also pays homage to one's ancestors. The last section focuses on love and all it entails.

Joe Giampaolo's poetry is simply mesmerizing -- observational and introspective in equal measure. An Unlikely Sunset is one of those poetry collections that you will revisit over several years. Giampaolo draws on his extensive knowledge of traditional Japanese poetry to pen some enthralling stanzas that linger in your mind long after you've put the book down. The author also uses free-verse poetry in this book, incorporating personal experiences that add color to the vibrant tapestry of this collection. Giampaolo's distinctive poetic flair will appeal to all poetry lovers. I thoroughly enjoyed this collection. Open any page of the book and read a poem, and it will evoke a different feeling or emotion within you. It's a fantastic poetry collection by a lyrical wordsmith. If you're a poetry enthusiast, do not miss out on this!
