Fantasy lovers, immerse yourself in RK Jack's enthralling action-adventure novella, Argent. When young Darrow invites eighteen-year-old Graciela (Grace) for an adventure in the Hallowdale Forest, little does she imagine that they will inadvertently wake up an ancient evil buried in the forbidden Amorak Cemetery. As it turns out, Darrow loses his life, and Grace barely manages to escape the undead after being rescued by the unicorn, Argent. Argent brings the injured Grace back to the town and apprises the townsfolk of the upcoming attack by the evil Mage King Vzerie and his undead minions. Gathering a small army of townsfolk, including an elf, a dwarf, and a halfling, Argent helps the people of Greelove defend their small town. However, they must somehow defeat the Lich King before he annihilates everything they hold dear.
Filled to the brim with suspense and action, Argent is a gripping fantasy novella with magic, mystery, and lore galore. As a fantasy fan, I absolutely loved this book. Author RK Jack doesn't waste a word and delivers a concisely crafted narrative with a fast-paced plot that has you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. From the very first pages, you feel the stakes as you're not sure if your favorite characters will make it out alive by the end. Argent steals every scene she is in, but I also enjoyed the secondary characters like Grace, Clestus, Drek, and Shivalt. The author has built an immersive fantasy world that is easy to get lost in. The action sequences are thrilling, and you don't want to put the book down in the middle of a battle. Fantasy readers will love this.
