Working the midnight shift, one night Samantha Cain hears strange sounds outside the building, so she runs out to see what is going on. What she didn’t expect was interrupting a killer in the act, sending this killer after Samantha because she has seen too much. But detective Matthew Jefferies will do everything he can to keep Samantha alive because he finally has a witness to a serial killer he has been trailing. The journey is frightening, but whom can Samantha really trust? Surely the police force can’t be trusted. That was definitely confirmed after her husband’s death. Except for Matthew that is, but can she really trust him?

Wow, speaking of being afraid, I was on the edge of my seat throughout this entire book! Deborah Lynne weaves a gripping tale of suspense and romance that will keep you reading for more and more excitement. The vivid description of the scenes throughout the book are realistic and believable, driving you to see what would happen next. The cover of a book makes all the difference to me, and this on is awesome! Just looking at it makes me want to dig in and see what is written on the pages because it looks exciting and intriguing. And with the name, "Be Not Afraid", you may wonder what it is all about, but Samantha’s strong faith in God throughout the story clearly shows how God’s grace and peace can sustain us. If you are a suspense/thriller type of person, you will love this one. It is a good, clean, fast read that will stay with you for a while!
