The concept of beauty is very special because we are all different and therefore original and that makes everyone have a unique beauty. If we see it in the right way, we will understand the real beauty that is in us. But sometimes there are influences that can cloud our judgment, like social media that can give kids wrong ideas and affect their self-esteem. That is why it is good to remind youngsters what is true beauty. Beautiful As You Are is a wonderful book because it teaches children to love and value themselves. PeTika Tave has created a book dedicated to improving self-esteem, teaching kids that we are not defined by external standards. It does not matter if we are tall or short, we are all unique.
It's nice to see a book that focuses on self-love. Loving oneself can be more complicated for some children than for others, but this does not have to be the case. Having the right self-esteem should not be influenced by a single aspect of ourselves, because a person is much more than a single characteristic. I liked Beautiful As You Are for everything it represents and because many times children need to be reminded how special they are. PeTika Tave teaches us that if you are honest with yourself, you can show the best of yourself and enjoy life. Parents will appreciate how the author conveys a good message to young readers.
