Becoming a Man of God: The Journey by Terry A. Richards II is a well-written book that reveals the process of becoming a genuine man or woman of God. While describing what a man is, Terry shared some childhood experiences and nightmares that stemmed from his father's beliefs about what it means to be a man. Using insights from the life of Jesus, Terry tried to create a balance between masculinity and godliness. Understanding who we are is crucial in our quest to become men and women of God. In discovering this identity, justification, sanctification, and glorification are three crucial steps, as described by Terry. This book proves that being a man of God is rooted in the process and not in the title or result.
I found every aspect of Terry’s writing fascinating. Sharing his personal experiences was a brilliant way to make the discussions appealing and engaging to readers like me. I loved the quiet time journal scriptures and questions at the end of each chapter, and it gave me some time to self-reflect and meditate on the Bible passages. Terry’s writing was detailed, straight to the point, and easy to comprehend. Also, the personal stories Terry shared had an amazing pace. The biblical references were organized and placed in the right places. I found this book inspiring and uplifting. I recommend Becoming a Man of God: The Journey by Terry A. Richards II to anyone passionate about venturing into ministry and also to those who seek a deeper relationship with God.
