Frances Marie Alvarado-Ng BS MSW, is a graduate of New York University's Silver School of Social Work. She specializes in adolescent clinical practice and child and family therapy. Diagnosed in adulthood with celiac disease, she was inspired to write "Beyond a Gluten-free Dream" to spread a message of hope for children diagnosed with the disease.
Her book "Livie Bloom &Friends, Adventures in Food Allergies," Beyond A Gluten-Free Dream, is the first in a series where the main characters have different types of food allergies and portray the everyday challenges they must face.
Her mission is to help children and their families raise awareness about celiac disease and other food allergies. She believes in the importance of getting a proper and early diagnosis, finding a cure, and encouraging the community to sponsor more research on the physical aspects and psychological stressors that affect their daily lives.

Beyond A Gluten-Free Dream is a children's picture book penned by Frances Alvarado-Ng and illustrated by Marianne Savage. Meet Livie Bloom (aka Bloomy). She has the coolest treehouse, and her best friend Titang is the most adorable dog! Bloomy's the most delightful little girl—some even say flowers grow everywhere she goes. Whenever she needs to figure out important stuff, you'll find her at the treehouse. It's one of those days. However, nothing seems fun. Earlier, Bloomy found out she has Celiac disease. That means foods with gluten could make her sick (even her favorite pizza and cookies). She felt very sad about it until she closed her eyes. With Titang as her tour guide and transport, the pair cruised the stars to special joyous occasions happening all across the world where there's lots of food that's all naturally gluten-free yet still healthy, much tastier, and easy to find. Just what are they?
