Beyond Forever is a work of chick-lit, romance and charming drama penned by author D. D. Marx, and presented in audiobook format with narration by Heather Masters and Angus King. In the third book in the continuing Beyond Series, we once again return to the tumultuous lives of Olivia Henry and Finn McDaniel, who have been through rather a lot so far to stay together and find happiness. The spiritual magical realism elements of the plot return with a bang as Finn turns to Dan, Olivia’s deceased best friend, for guidance about the huge changes that are happening in both their lives. What results is a heartfelt drama with some brand-new revelations about Olivia and Finn’s connection to the beyond.

What started out in book one as a playful romantic comedy with some great magical realism and ghostly goings-on has quickly become a full-on, fully-realized tale of poignancy, genuine drama and deep, meaningful moments about the realities of love, loss and building a life together. Author D. D. Marx once again puts that loving spin on the chick-lit genre, and I was really pleased to see so much development for Finn in this installment too.

In terms of audiobook quality, the presentation and narration offer top-notch listening as always. Narrator Helen Masters delivers her lovely, familiar, wry and heartfelt rendition of Olivia, and Angus King really has a chance to shine in this particular volume too, with lots of emotional depth. Overall, Beyond Forever continues what is sure to become an absolutely beloved series for fans of drama, romance, and a little bit of the beyond too.

Beyond Forever is the third novel in The Beyond Series by D.D. Marx. The story of Olivia and Finn continues as they experience new things in life and hold on to each other. Olivia and Finn were excited to start a new chapter in life. With a little one just months away, they cannot wait to start a new routine and fall in love with their child. But life likes to test them, especially when they feel settled in. While Finn is trying to get his restaurant up and going, Olivia is trying to make her dreams come true. They try to find a rhythm that works for them but life hits them with a double whammy that knocks the breath out of them. They are now relying on their spiritual guardians more than ever. They need Dan’s help, but they also need to be on their toes at all times. Can they get the help they need or are they really on their own?

Once again, a brilliant continuation and an amazing story! Angus King and Heather Masters are wonderful narrators. They know how to breathe life into words and paint pictures with their voices. Their cadence, their enunciation and the way they say the words add emotions to the story and make it more entertaining. They made Olivia and Finn such believable, real and relatable characters. As always, D.D. Marx gave a complete story where I got to see more from Olivia and Finn, see how they have each grown individually as a person and how their relationship has helped them bloom. They are more confident about themselves and about their relationship. I enjoyed how open and genuinely happy they were with life. The narrative was smooth, nothing seemed out of place and the pace was just perfect! I loved these characters and I hope to see them in the last novel in the series as well.

Let me start by saying that I am a great fan of D.D. Marx's romance novels. After listening to the two audios in this series, I couldn't wait for this one and the great news is that Beyond Forever ups the tension in The Beyond Series. It was wonderful following the development of the relationship between Olivia Henry and Finn McDaniel and how Olivia's spiritual relationship with Dan, her deceased best friend, enriched her decision making. In this third entry in the series, it is Finn who desperately reaches out to Dan for guidance when he thinks he has lost Olivia forever. Through the challenges they endure, there is light and a miracle that brings about the breakthrough in Olivia's career. But their troubles are far from over. Will help come from the deepest recesses of their hearts or from a bond that carries them beyond the grave?

D.D. Marx is not just a great storyteller but an author who possesses hope and knows how to communicate it. I have pondered on her stories and am amazed at the wonderful role that Dan plays in the story. Dan is a symbolic character that will appeal to the reader's inner senses, to their faith, and their spiritual dimension. I couldn't think of him as just a character, but an extension of the spiritual part of the key characters in the story, the common sense that guides their steps. The author communicates the powerful message that no relationship is perfect and demonstrates with skill how readers can find strength in the midst of the vicissitudes of life. The narration by Heather Masters and Angus King is clear and captures the drama in a professional way. I drove home listening to the story and had to sit in the car for 20 more minutes to get to the end. Beyond Forever is so lovely, so engaging, and so inspiring.

Beyond Forever is book three in the four-book Beyond Series by D.D. Marx and an engaging audiobook that grabs the attention of the reader from the onset. In book two, Olivia Henry had to overcome personal challenges to finally unite with Finn McDaniel. In this installment, it is Finn who runs the risk of losing her forever and he turns to the one unlikely person for help: Olivia's deceased best friend, Dan. In a miraculous way, everything falls into place, with Olivia experiencing extraordinary success in her career. But there is a twist no one could have seen coming and their lives are thrust into a new whirlwind. What are they really destined for? The answers will surprise the reader.

D.D. Marx writes romance and elevates it with the beauty of prose and characters. There is a spiritual dimension to the story that drives hope and makes readers look beyond what happens in the moment. Dan is a character whose involvement in the relationship between Olivia and Finn drives home the consoling thought that the dead are not dead but alive. Themes of love, romance, faith, and hope are deeply woven into the fabric of the tale. The plot is filled with surprises. It is emotionally rich and the humanity of the characters is well-explored. The audio is perfect. The sound is clear and the narrative voices of Heather Masters and Angus King come out powerfully. This is an endearing romance with characters that are real and nuanced and a plot that is original. I enjoyed every bit of it and can't wait for the final book in the series.

Beyond Forever is the third audiobook in The Beyond Series by D.D. Marx and an engrossing romance with powerful twists and multi-layered characters. I have followed this series from the very first book and have gotten to know the exceptional characters the author has created. In the second book, Finn McDaniel and Olivia Henry are finally together after Olivia has to go through many challenges. But this time, Finn is about to lose her and perhaps forever. So, he goes to the only person who can help. Dan is the departed best friend of Olivia and the person Olivia has listened to for guidance. The change starts with a package and then Olivia’s unexpected breakthrough. Finn is determined to stand by the person he loves and to help her. But there is more in store for them than they bargained for.

When I listen to D.D. Marx’s stories, I am continually reminded of the fact that no relationship exists without challenges, without the occasional moments of pain, and that at times after a disaster the bond becomes even stronger. This couple has gone through a lot, and every difficult experience thrown at them seems to be like an announcement that something better is about to happen. Their struggles help to strengthen the bond of love they share for each other. This unusual connection with the deceased Dan gives the story a spiritual depth and a deeper understanding of friendship that I enjoyed very much. The spiritual dimension of love is so ingeniously explored in this novel and readers will feel as though they can communicate with departed loved ones.

Beyond Forever is professionally narrated. The voice is gripping and the story comes alive in the voices of performers Heather Masters and Angus King. This is one of the best audios I have listened to; a story that will inspire hope in readers and elevate their minds to a stronger understanding of faith and love and the reality of death.
