In Biblical Lessons of Faith, Lakella L. Davenport explains how to discover the grace of God by placing your faith in Him. When we place our trust in Him, He can give us a full list of blessings, especially if we obey His commandments. The author quotes a variety of verses to encourage readers to abide by His word. For example, if we abide in Christ, and His words abide in you, He shall grant you the desires of your heart (John 15:7). The book also emphasizes the power of prayer by communicating with God in a way that heals the sick, strengthens our faith, and overcomes difficulties. Some of the main obstacles that Davenport covers include overcoming fear, anxiety, and all kinds of sicknesses that people are burdened with. According to Davenport, these can all be overcome with a spirit of gratitude toward God. When we pray and put our trust in the Lord, He will supply us with all our needs, giving us peace, love, and joy.
