Birthday Countdown is a children's picture storybook written by Megan Pighetti with illustrations by Yuliana Simakovska. The book tells the story of Kyle, a boy who is eagerly awaiting his birthday, which is in three sleeps. Every morning, he asks his parents if today is the day, but they tell him to be patient. Kyle goes to school, where his friend Charlie also looks forward to Kyle's birthday. The two boys talk about making a wish to the Birthday Fairy to make Kyle extra happy on his special day. Charlie tells Kyle how the Fairy had looped his sister's room with toilet paper, which sparks Kyle's interest because he also wants the same experience. However, Kyle doesn't have the magical bracelet required to summon the Birthday Fairy. Nevertheless, he wishes extra hard for the fairy and patiently waits for his birthday wishes to come true.
Birthday Countdown is a beautiful story that teaches children about patience, happiness, and faith. The story revolves around Kyle, an adorable character that many young readers will find relatable. His infectious impatience and excitement will make readers happy as they wait with him for his upcoming birthday. Megan Pighetti uses simple words and a conversational tone to narrate the story, making it engaging for children. Kyle's parents are lovely people who show him love and care, teaching him to be hopeful. The book has colorful illustrations that perfectly depict the characters and complement the story. The diversity of the characters and the toys are good details that make it stand out. I enjoyed reading this book and recommend adding it to your children's collection.
