Fiona Frost: Blood Dolls - Fiona Frost Mystery Series, Volume 5 is a young adult mystery novel written by Dr. Bon Blossman. While this is the fifth volume in the Frost Series, the author provides enough background information within the text to allow this book to be read as a stand-alone novel. Fiona is college bound, and she has passed the reins of the Crime Lab and the Forensics Club of Godley Grove High School to her second-in-command, Doug and her cousin, Haley. The two of them will continue handling investigations with Detective Chase, Fiona's longtime mentor and friend. During the summer before college, Fiona's been given the opportunity to participate in an internship at Quantico, along with her friend, Maddy Christie, boyfriend, Wolfe Nero, and a last-minute replacement that has the three of them on edge: Remy Sinclair. Sinclair had earlier placed Fiona's life in jeopardy and was recovering from a bullet wound. Unbeknownst to the others, he had directly contacted Agent Jonas and was given the last spot on the team. Their internship becomes more of an official assignment, however, as the attacks of the Blood Doll killer have continued to perplex and frustrate the FBI. Their supervisor, Agent Jonas, has decided to use Fiona and the others as part of the second investigative team assigned to identify and apprehend the serial killer.

Dr. Bon Blossman's young adult mystery novel, Fiona Frost: Blood Dolls, is a fast-paced and exciting investigative murder mystery pitting the young forensic specialists against an unknown group with high-tech resources and a sinister plan of murder and revenge. Fiona is a strong, competent, and fearless character who's a marvelous role model for young adults. Watching as she, Maddie, Wolfe, and Remy work with the FBI to solve the mysteries of the Blood Dolls and the Bleak Society is highly entertaining, and the resolution of the story will challenge even the most skillful of those readers who like to solve the mystery on their own. Blossman's plot is filled with red herrings and twists and turns, and it all happens at a breakneck pace. Her writing is accomplished, and her style is perfectly suited for this genre. Fiona Frost: Blood Dolls - Fiona Frost Mystery Series, Volume 5 is a captivating mystery that's most highly recommended for mystery lovers of all ages.

In a creepy and fast paced new read by author Dr. Bon Blossman, Blood Dolls, the fifth installment in the Fiona Frost mystery series, readers will be treated to an excellent entry in the genre of mysteries for young adults. Following protagonist Fiona Frost as she puts her internship at the FBI academy on hold in order to investigate The Blood Doll Killer, this book is a real roller coaster from start to finish. Fiona and her friends from the Academy are thrown into the world of the supernatural during their exploits, and all that Fiona thought she knew and believed will be challenged with this case. What started as a summer internship in preparation for college has turned into much more. Will Fiona and her friends make it to the fall, or will they become the next victims of the killer they are chasing? You'll need to read this great book to find out!

I so enjoyed Blood Dolls. Author Dr. Bon Blossman has done a spectacular job in the continuing story of the highly engaging character of Fiona Frost. This book kept me on the edge of my seat from the start all the way through the very last page. Any reader who loves an inventive and surprising mystery, not just young adults, will enjoy this book. I am so pleased to highly recommend this book, and I certainly look forward to reading more from the extremely talented author, Dr. Bon Blossman, as soon as I possibly can!

Fiona Frost: Blood Dolls Volume 5 by Dr. Bon Blossman is entered as a young adult fantasy story, but will entertain adult readers as well. This is a tantalizing story in the detective genre that will make readers curl their fingers into fists and curse as they read on. A young girl, with a confusing belief about the supernatural, finds herself investigating a cunning and elusive serial killer instead of being fully involved in an internship she’d so much wanted with the FBI. But serial killers don’t give themselves up like a mailman delivering a package. Fiona has to work her way through a complex network of unforgiving enemies and untold challenges to find out the truth, and does she really?

Dr. Bon Blossman is very imaginative and comes up with a very powerful plot. I loved the idea of the Doll Blood Killer, a villain whose fate readers will be aching to discover. I loved the wonderful writing style, the confidence that comes through the writing, the intense drama, and the many aspects of the conflict. Fiona is a young protagonist and it is good that she isn’t portrayed as all-powerful and knowing answers to everything. Readers can follow her growth progress and be alarmed at the surprising decisions she makes. There is a lot that will leave readers open-mouthed when it comes to the plot. Yes, the surprises are many and the author lets readers guess some as they turn the pages.

This is the first book I have read in the Fiona Frost series and it’s so well accomplished that one doesn’t have to read the previous books to become attuned to the story. Fiona Frost: Blood Dolls Volume 5 is a book I’d recommend for its success on several counts — great characters, a complex plot, and excellent writing.
