Author Biography

South African-born Dean Jacques lives in New Zealand. Having retired from the corporate world, he has created this book using the imaginative characters and stories that entertained his children and grandchildren over the years. As little people, they were fascinated and always wanted to hear more.

Dean created these animal characters who experience life as people do (anthropomorphism). Says Dean, ‘while some imagination is required to bring these characters to life and allow them to do things that animals just don’t do in the real world, it’s easy to draw out the imagination of small children – they have so much of it!’

Bobby Bear, Freddy Fox, and the Big Five Safari Adventure by Dean Jacques is a funny adventure tale for kids with cute illustrations by Maria Ernest. This is a fun story for kids to enjoy, but it also offers some education. The story teaches children to value friendship while teaching them to work together for a common aim. It also educates children about wildlife and hopefully instills in them a need to protect what wildlife is left on our planet. There are also some amazing, colorful photos dotted throughout to help bring those animals to life a little more. This is a very well-written book with some lovely animal characters developed to act as humans, a great way to get the attention of young readers. This is a thoroughly enjoyable, educational story that kids will love to read and learn from, and it is highly recommended as a way of teaching the younger generation about the importance of wildlife protection and conservation.
