Bound by Time, a new paranormal romance by the epic fantasy writer A.D. Trosper, starts when nineteen-year-old Isobel Moore comes home from college to stay at her parents' house while they're overseas for the summer. But what was supposed to be a lazy summer spent reading books and ogling Damien DeLuca, her new neighbor, is shattered when she’s haunted by something sinister trapped in her home’s stained glass window. As the malevolent force rips though her life and everything spins out of control, she discovers things about her past she never dreamed could be real: angels and demons, magic and. . . Damien. Now racing against time to defeat an ancient evil and protect those she loves, Isobel must draw on the ultimate power and may have to make the ultimate sacrifice.
Bound by Time by A.D. Trosper is really fun and fast paced, and it’s great for fans of Twilight, and Fallen by Lauren Kate. There’s an epic love between Isobel and Damien as they are reincarnated again and again as they attempt to hunt down a major demon. Since Isobel is nineteen and Damien is twenty-three, I guess it falls in that tenuous category of New Adult but as it’s not filled with sexy times or loads of adult situations it’s pretty much YA for now. Though if there’s a sequel I’d love to see how Isobel juggles college and demon hunting. I also enjoyed the growth and change she went through, at first being scared of and trying to suppress her power, but with Damien’s help and guidance she slowly grows to embrace her power and wield it with deadly accuracy.
