All children enjoy blowing bubbles and will love Bubbles, a picture book by Sarah Vizzard, which forms part of The Amazing Hidden Talents of Anibabs series. We are all amazing, and we all have hidden talents. In this story, Vizzard introduces us to a girl named Anibabs. She is a child with a unique talent, which she discovers the day she turns four. Anibabs can blow bubbles - but not just using a wand, as we all do. Her bubbles have many colors, shapes, and sizes. Children will also learn about animals, fruits, and vegetables through these bubbles. The questions at the end of the book will encourage children to discover different things they can do, and in the process, they may just find their unique hidden talents.
Sarah Vizzard grabs our attention straight away with a simple question. After that, we are caught up in an exciting whirlwind of words that she creates using rhyming and descriptive language. I loved how she builds anticipation with incomplete sentences and surprises us by using a different word than the reader may have expected. The simple and funny drawings by Lynsey Hilton assist in keeping young readers entertained and engrossed in the story. Bubbles reminds us all that we are awesome and will inspire us to search within for our hidden talents. It has reminded me that I am awesome and that I should carry on searching for my hidden talents. I love the colorful and funny illustrations, the rhyming words, and the descriptive language. The story drew me in straight away and created so much excitement - I felt as if I were twirling with the language! Sarah Vizzard has created a fantastic picture book that will become a favorite for preschoolers and parents alike and encourage them to do incredible things every day.
