Buzz by Mary Jo Prado is a cute little story book for children about Buzz, the dragonfly. Buzz is a large and ugly looking dragonfly and his neighbors get scared when they see him. Buzz has no friends and he is desperately looking for friends. He wants one good friend with whom he can play and fly around the meadow. But wherever he goes, he is shooed away. His neighbor Dottie finds him ugly and she shoos him away, saying her babies will get scared. But then something happens which will change his life forever. Will Buzz find new friends? Will people stop shooing Buzz away every time they see him? It's a beautiful story with a message that tells readers not to judge a book by its cover.

The story is perfect to teach children not to judge people from the outside. Buzz the dragonfly is a likeable character and the book shows how he captures the hearts of the people around him with his good nature and character. The illustrations are bright and colorful and they give movement and life to the scenes, story and the characters in the book. It's a good book for parents and grandparents to use for bedtime reading for their kids and grand kids. It is also useful in read aloud sessions in classrooms and libraries. Children's books with messages and concepts are always the best way to teach them. This book about friendship teaches kids about looking deeper into a person and seeing their inner beauty.
