Captain Troublemaker and The Belly Rub Avenger Fly to the Farm is an adorable children’s story about a couple of pups who are superheroes. Stacey Roberts is a wonderful storyteller with an imagination that kept me entertained. I would happily read this book over and over again to my nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. I love how the dogs got a ‘signal’ that sent them flying around looking for the problem they needed to solve. The way the pups narrowed their search was one of the cutest interactions I’ve seen in a children’s story. Will the other farm animals be able to help the furry superheroes find out what kind of trouble is going on? Will they be able to solve the problem, or is it going to be too much for them to handle?
The illustrations are absolutely beautiful. I love the way they bring this story to life with beautiful images that are fun and entertaining. Kids will want to read this story many times as they learn to read. I could easily see this book in a preschool classroom with other children’s fairy tales, fables, and short reads. What I love best about this story is not just the superhero pups. It’s how the story teaches kids kindness and compassion in a fun way that they will not forget. I would recommend Captain Troublemaker and The Belly Rub Avenger Fly to the Farm to any classroom with young kids or anyone who cares for small children. I hope Stacey Roberts has more stories like this one in the near future.
