Catching Shadows by Ana Ban is a tale of crime and passion. Mia Gonzalez has spent the last year pursuing Selena, a criminal mastermind who is proving tough to catch. Mia looks very much like Selena so she decides to go undercover and get involved in Selena’s life, believing this to be the easiest way to root her out. What Mia doesn’t bank on is falling for Selena’s partner, Donovan. She’s getting herself into something she may struggle to get out of with her life intact. For Mia to survive, she has to do more than just infiltrate Selena’s life and business – she must become her. The deeper she digs, the more trouble she is in, and she’ll have to make some tough choices, especially when the infamous DeLuca family gets involved. Can Mia succeed?
Catching Shadows by Ana Ban is a thrilling crime story that will keep you hooked all the way through. This is the ultimate battle of good vs evil, but things are never quite what they seem, and it’s not always easy to determine who’s on which side. Mia and Donovan make the perfect pair, both incredibly well-developed and growing together throughout the story. This is a mixture of crime and romance, interspersed with Mia’s personal life, and the unique, twisty plot will keep you enthralled. It’s a dark story but with little violence, making it ideal for any adult reader who wants something with a gripping storyline. This was a highly enjoyable read, and I hope to read more by Ana Ban in the future.
