A global pandemic, Middle East, Ukraine, climate change – there have been many changes around the world over the past decade, and what better way to get through it all than to cook? That’s what Astrid Tuttle Winegar did and her book Celebrating Comfy, Cozy Foods From North America is an epic result of her culinary arts. You can spice up your cooking with a Cajun mix, or any manner of combos using a wide variety of chillis. Or sweet spice your sweets with a cinnamon sugar mix. The list of possibilities is endless and the author has provided some vegan alternatives to satisfy different eating habits.
Astrid Tuttle Winegar’s cookbook, Celebrating Comfy, Cozy Foods From North America, is the third volume in the Cooking for Halflings and Monsters series. Taking a magical and fantastical realm, and, according to the author, North America can and does fit the bill, recipes, and food adventures can be epic and enjoyable any time of the year. The author leads readers and chefs through the basics, before launching into sections of recipes to suit many different festivities, like New Year. The recipes are well outlined, with clear descriptions and explanations of possible changes. Photographs illustrate the finished product and will entice readers to want to create the specialty in their own kitchen. There are lots of references and explanatory sections to help readers through the maze of possibilities. This book is both an interesting read and a reliable and fantastic resource for feeding the multitudes.
