Wolves have a prominent place within the story with their presence creating fear and a haunting setting that pays homage to the role of wolves throughout folklore and fairytales. The story weaves between the perspectives of various characters which dip into Charlie and his friends' world as they train, fight, and travel to stop monsters and save lives.
