Charlie and his friends find themselves once again in the middle of trouble as growing darkness threatens innocent lives. The Monster Hunters receive a new mission when a letter arrives seeking their help. These beings add to the eerie tone of the story in a world that is caught between light and dark with the Monster Hunters in the middle. Wolves hunting through the night, banshees wailing, and ominous figures beckoning add a layer to the story that immerses you into the folklore that is rich and detailed. Wolves have a prominent place within the story with their presence creating fear and a haunting setting that pays homage to the role of wolves throughout folklore and fairytales. The story weaves between the perspectives of various characters which dip into Charlie and his friends' world as they train, fight, and travel to stop monsters and save lives. Hope is an important theme of the story as the characters are striving to make a better world. Humor is derived from an assortment of delightful characters and clever dialogue.
