In Christmas at the Saporis by KD Sherrinford, the author has taken an iconic character from the past, Sherlock Holmes, and written a delightful story, bringing into it a wife, two children, his brother Mycroft Holmes, Mrs Martha Hudson, a sister Libertas James, husband Al James, and John Barnaby. The main characters are Sherlock Holmes and his wife Irene, who are incognito as Mr and Mrs Saporis due to a previous crime mystery that they solved and now the underworld is after them. The characters are delightful and gently take the reader by the hand through the maze that forms the adventure of crime and mystery that has to be solved when a distant family member is found dead in his flat.
Christmas at the Saporis: Sherlock Holmes and Irene Adler Mysteries Book 2 by KD Sherrinford is a spellbinding story that holds the reader’s attention from the first page to the very last. The journey that the reader is taken on is so full of the most amazing, intriguing adventure with the Saporis family and their friends and family that it is hard to put down. This is a book that is well worth more than one read, as all Sherlock Holmes stories are, but this one makes the character more human and believable as just an ordinary person who has a panache for solving crimes of an unusual nature. This is an interesting and fun read and I really enjoyed it. It brought Sherlock Holmes to life in the most down-to-earth way. It would be lovely to read on a rainy day. A wonderful book!
