Christmas Star by Mary Jo Prado is a cute little story revolving around the theme of Christmas. Franny and her family love Christmas time. They love decorating the tree and they display it proudly for the family and friends to see. The children are excited, knowing Santa is going to visit them soon. They are thinking about what to ask Santa for Christmas. In the midst of all the excitement, their mother tells them the story of the Three Wise Men being led by an Angel to Bethlehem where they would meet Baby Jesus. The story not only celebrates Christmas, but also the joy and cheer of the season.

It's a beautiful thematic book for kids that tells them a story along with the excitement of decorating the Christmas tree. The author describes the decorating part and the decorations in detail, making it very appealing. It's an interesting book that tells kids not only about Christmas, Santa and the season, but also about Baby Jesus. It makes a good bedtime story book and parents and grandparents will find it useful to read it out to their kids and grand kids. It is a good book for read aloud sessions in classrooms and libraries, especially during the Christmas season. The illustrations are beautiful and they capture the beauty and charm of the season and the story. They complement the words of the author well. The pictures enable kids to understand the story and the concept easily.
