Jim Haslam writes his story as that of luck, both in business and personal life, and his experiences of faith, hope, failure, happiness, love, loss, and a host of other emotions. He speaks about General Robert R. Neyland who was one of the most popular football coaches of his time and one of his mentors who played a key role in his life. He also shares Neyland's great maxims and speaks about how they influenced his thinking and his life too.
Jim Haslam's journey is inspirational - from becoming the football team captain at the University of Tennessee, serving in the military, starting a small oil company in 1958 with one gas station, and from there going on to build one of the largest private companies in the country.
