Corinthia Falls is a community church in northeastern Oklahoma. The Sunday the prank happened, as with all Sunday mornings, one side of the church was filled with sitters: the quieter people, those who worship within themselves, not showing anyone how they feel. The other side has the standers: those who stand, raise their hands, and shout their praises during the service. And the balcony is where you will find the teens and others just watching from above, not wanting to take sides. As much as we laugh about it, I think everyone who goes to church is in one the three groups talked about in this book: sitters, standers or observers.
When the pranksters turned a red billy goat loose in the church yelling, "Repent, repent, ye sinners or ye will turn into a goat," they didn't know it would start a real revival in the little church. When the mysterious traveling preacher, Paul (The Colonel), and his dog, Silas, came on the scene, things started to slowly change; people were getting saved and giving their lives to the Lord and miracles started happening. Even Tim, TJ and Ant got saved and started living for the Lord. Soon the people of this little church found their lives changed forever.
Growing up in a small community, going to a small church, this book brought back sweet memories for me. I enjoyed Timber, TJ, Anthony, and even the pranksters, because I could see these characters in some of those long ago people at our little church. But one thing was sure; these people all knew one another, and they loved and cared for each other. I appreciate the author taking us to the little church in Corinthia Falls, showing us what can happen when people give their lives to Christ and let Him use them to help others. It gives us a taste of God's love and forgiveness and the joys we can have living for Him.
