In Crowned in Vice: The Peloni Empire by Tiffany Persails, Teagan, always looking for her next fix, constantly finds herself at the mercy of Marcus, one of the prospective heirs to the Peloni family. However, when his cousin, Thomas, the second prospective heir, learns of Marcus’ obsession with the young woman, he decides to take matters into his own hands. He kidnaps Teagan and rids her of the drug that has so dominated her life. Thomas, always the level-headed, business-minded man, finds himself falling for the seemingly broken woman in his care. When Marcus learns of his cousin’s betrayal, he will stop at nothing to reclaim the woman he craves. Yet, who is really in control of this twisted love triangle, and will hard truths come to light as the head of the Peloni family aims to end his life?
Crowned in Vice: The Peloni Empire by Tiffany Persails takes the reader into the dark underbelly of a mafia empire. This novel isn’t for the faint of heart. While it seems Thomas is perfect in every way, his flaws start to creep to the surface, and the dynamic between him and Teagan was written very well. The power plays kept the book interesting, and things did not end as I had expected. I love a strong female character, and it was a pleasantly surprising contrast to some of the other dark romance novels I have read. I look forward to reading other works by this author, and it will be interesting to see how the relationship between Thomas, Marcus, and Teagan evolves in future novels.
