Dark Data: Control, Alt, Delete is a work of thrilling fiction based on conspiracy and terror, and was penned by author Douglas J. Wood. Written for adults due to its explicit scenes of violence, some nudity and language, this engaging and edgy tale focuses on the dark deeds and plots of terrorists Constantine Petrenko and Abu al-Badri. Paula Jankovic is a willing pawn in the game, targeting particular figureheads for her bosses to topple societies, markets, and entire financial systems. It seems that only a plucky reporter discovering some incredible predictions can find a way to defeat the rising tide of dark data that threatens to engulf the world.
Author Douglas J. Wood has created a superbly engaging plotline for fans of terrorism thrillers and political conspiracy novels to enjoy. The ties and clues to the mysteries are tightly woven and cleverly placed, revealing moments that connect to both past and present for the keen-eyed readers who can pick them out. Character development is reserved for particular moments so that the plot can shine without too much emotional interference, but the characters do have their moments of strife where we as readers can relate to them effectively. Wood also has a skill for tension, constructing powerful yet simple sentences which build the atmosphere whilst delivering snippets of knowledge, and compelling dialogue that raises the hairs on his readers’ arms. Overall, Dark Data: Control, Alt, Delete is a thrilling page-turner with plenty of intelligent twists and believable yet amazing plot points.
